Holy Spirit

During one of his missionary trips the Apostle Paul questioned a group of believers about the Holy Spirit. He asked if they had received the Holy Spirit since they believed. Their answer was, "We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost" (Acts 19:2).* Paul shared the message of the ministry of the Holy Spirit with these Christians (Acts 19). Today it is equally important that believers understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit. We must understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit in order to be part of this special revelation of the power of God. The study of the Holy Spirit is one of the major doctrines of the Bible. A doctrine is all the teachings which relate to a particular subject.

Life of David

llife of david

To be a person after Godís own heart means to be Godís kindred spirit, someone to Godís liking, one in whom God finds a special affinity and delight. It is someone who has the heart of a worshiper. It is a person that, when confronted with sin, quickly confesses and humbles himself before God. It is a heart that forgives others with the same forgiveness received from God. It is a heart that is grieved by things that grieve the heart of God. To be one who accomplishes the purposes of God in his/her generation means a person understands they are called for purpose, not privilege. They understand it is about Him, not them. (Acts 13:36) The purpose of this study is not only to acquaint you with the historical facts of Davidís life, but to transform you into a man or woman ďafter Godís own heartĒ who, like David, can fulfill their God-given destiny in this generation.

spiritual warfare

spiritual warfare

In order to be properly prepared for the perilous times of our day, renewed emphasis must be placed on the strategies of spiritual warfare. The Christian life is war. The sooner we recognize and prepare for it, the sooner we will experience victory.

Luke 14:31 says, "What king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?" No king ever entered into a battle without a careful examination of his resources and development of battle strategies. In essence, that is what we are doing in this course. We are making a careful evaluation of the strategy, weapons, and power available to us to win the war against our enemy, Satan.

In the military world, "strategy" is the science of forming and carrying out military operations. It is the method or plan which leads to the goal of victory. In this course you will learn to formulate and carry out spiritual military strategy which will bring victory in the spirit world and on earth.

Psalms

Psalms

The value of the Old Testament is expressed several times in the New Testament: For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. (Romans 15:4) Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. (1 Corinthians 10:11) Paul reminded Timothy of the importance of the Old Testament scriptures he had learned as a child: But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:14-17) The Psalms teach us how to approach God in prayer, how to praise and worship God, how to live a holy and righteous life, what to do when we fail, and how to deal with every human emotion we experience.

One of the most exciting revelations in the Bible is that God has a definite plan for every individual for this life and eternity. In order to fulfill these plans you must come to know God's voice. You must learn how He has communicated in times past and how He speaks today. This course explains how God speaks to man and how to find God's will for your life. Guidelines are given on knowing the voice of God and determining His will. The pattern of God's will and Scriptural examples of how God reveals His will are discussed.

Preaching-Teaching

In this course you will learn how to use a great spiritual weapon. That weapon is the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17). Teaching is not just the communicating of doctrine or information. Students must experience God, not just learn information about Him. Teaching is the transmission [imparting] of both a life and lifestyle. The life to be imparted to students is new life in Jesus Christ through new birth spiritually (John 3). The lifestyle to be imparted is that of the Kingdom of God. Students must be taught how to live as "Kingdom citizens". Students must learn both the privileges and responsibilities of their position. You will learn tactics of preaching and teaching God's Word for the purpose of defeating the enemy. This course uses God's Word, the Holy Bible, as the revelation upon which all teaching is based.

Women in the Bible

Women in the Bible

The subject of women has focused on their purpose and position in society. Many modern movements promoting liberation for women have overreacted to the problems and concerns faced by women. The movement towards liberation for women is not new. It can be traced back to the first woman, Eve, who sought liberation from God's rules. But true liberation for women comes only through Jesus Christ and recognition of the patterns and principles governing womanhood revealed in God's Word, the Bible. This course summarizes what the Bible teaches regarding women. It is not only a study guide, but a reference tool as it lists all the passages about women and references to all the individual women mentioned in the Word of God.
